+ 2 METERS ABOVE FINISHED GRADE

Temporary installation in an apple orchard prior to development

A site-specific installation in a ten acre orchard slated for development, executed as part of a series of critical projects addressing urban development.

+2.0 Meters Above Existing Grade involved surveying and demarcating a series of horizontal datums through the dense spatial environment of a mature orchard in order to project the radical topographic adjustments which precede the conversion of farmland to subdivision.

Using the technique of surveying to map an extension of the urban grid onto an existing natural grid of trees, the project prefigures the destruction of older agricultural landscapes in the creation of the contemporary urban fringe of land banks and serviced lots.
